Dr. Andrew Lovy Hand, Wrist, Elbow & Shoulder Surgeon
Dr. Andrew Lovy is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand, upper extremity, microvascular, and peripheral nerve surgery. Prior to joining the Paley Institute in 2023, he served as Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he was also the Assistant Fellowship Director of the Hand Surgery Fellowship at Beth Israel.
Dr. Lovy completed his medical degree and master’s degree at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, graduating with distinction in clinical research. He subsequently completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, followed by advanced fellowship training in Hand, Upper Extremity, and Microvascular Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.His clinical and research interests include peripheral nerve injuries, brachial plexus reconstruction, targeted muscle reinnervation, nerve and tendon transfer surgery, and complex disorders of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. Dr. Lovy is experienced in both minimally invasive and reconstructive surgical techniques aimed at restoring function and improving patient outcomes. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Lovy has authored more than 45 peer-reviewed clinical and basic science publications, numerous textbook chapters, and has lectured nationally and internationally on disorders of the upper extremity and peripheral nerve surgery.
