Erem Tutal
Erem earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Boston University and has developed a strong interest in neurosurgery, peripheral nerve regeneration, and translational research through her work across both clinical and laboratory studies.
Since joining The Paralysis Center team, Erem has contributed to a wide range of research initiatives focused on peripheral nerve injuries, nerve transfer surgery, direct muscle electrical stimulation, and functional recovery. Her work spans both human clinical research and translational non-human primate models, where she has been involved in study design, data collection, biospecimen processing, functional outcome assessment, and scientific presentations. In her current role, she leads a prospective biomarker study investigating peripheral nerve injury and recovery, collaborating closely with surgeons, researchers, and clinical staff throughout all phases of patient enrollment and specimen management. She plans to pursue medical school and hopes to continue advancing research in neurosurgery and peripheral nerve reconstruction while building a career dedicated to improving patient outcomes.
